THE RED RIDER SAGA

WHAT READERS ARE SAYING

“Get ready to see the classic tale reimagined as you’ve never seen it before. … transforming a children’s fairy tale into a supernatural action thriller with a Zorro-style vigilante.”
A.K. Preston, author of The Gevaudan Project

“I got sucked in from the beginning. … I was up all night reading, imagining and feeling for this poor girl … heartbreak and twists and adventure all rolled into one. … This is a book to let a young woman read to teach about inner strength and what one young girl can do against so many odds. That one action can accomplish so much. This book gets my absolute seal of approval. I could even picture this story on the big screen!

“Full of thrilling discoveries and heart-pounding adventure! Helena “Red” is as complex, driven, and bold as Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games). You will be cheering for her from the start!”

“This book was fantastic!!!!!!! Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. A fantastic twist on the original Red Riding Hood. Helena is my hero.”

) ) )

“This Red Riding Hood has far more in common with Van Helsing than the children’s fairy tale and the heroine’s aim puts Katniss to shame. Although taking place in 18th century France, this reminded me a bit of Buffy as well. This story is action-filled and fast-paced with interesting character interaction.”

Little Red Riding Hood isn’t little anymore.

My name is Helena Basque. I’m sixteen years old. As a child, I was attacked by a savage wolf that killed my Grand’Mere and left me with triple scars across my face. That wolf belonged to the Lycanthru, a secret cult of men who transform into wolves to attack the innocent here in La Rue Sauvage. No one will stand up to them, so I now hunt the wolves myself with weapons that destroy them, wearing my red hood and cloak that the wolves have come to fear.
Except for one, a new Lycanthru named Grenault. Bigger, stronger, more cunning than the other wolves, and not the least bit afraid of me. I need to stop him fast, before he takes over the Lycanthru to kill me and everyone I love.
But he’s too smart and too strong, He sees me for the little girl I am, scared and defenseless without my special weapons.
And I have no idea how to stop him.

Get ready to battle the beast.

Little Red Riding Hood isn’t little anymore …
And she’s never backing down again.

My name is Helena Basque. When I was seven years old, I was attacked by a savage wolf that killed my Grand’Mere and left me with triple scars across my face. It also left me with endless nightmares of the wolf that stood upright and spoke to me.
I’m sixteen now, and I know it was no wolf. Nor was it alone. A pack of those creatures now threaten my family and everyone else here in La Rue Sauvage. Since no one will stand up to defend our province, I will hunt down the wolves myself. To stop them, I must do things I never planned to do, and become something I never planned to become.
For several years, I’ve trained myself to hunt and to fight and to show no fear. I have donned a red hood and cloak like the one I was forbidden to wear in childhood, to show them that at least one person is fighting back. I’ve armed myself with a repeating crossbow and other assorted weapons, and I refuse to stop or slow down until I destroy every last one of those wolves … whatever they actually are.

Come along for the ride.

Never invite me to a royal ball …

They tried to kill me. They’ll regret it.
My name is Helena Basque. I was attacked by a strange wolf that scarred my face when I was seven years old. That creature was part of the Lycanthru, a cult of men who transform themselves into large wolves that can still speak and plan attacks on our province.

I’m only sixteen, but I’ve been trained to ride and hunt and fight. My repeating crossbow contains silver-tipped bolts that bring swift death to the wolves, causing them to fear me and the sight of my red hooded cloak.
Now they plan to take over more than the province, at a royal masquerade ball being held to honor the Queen. If I can’t find a way inside that party, the Lycanthru will kill everyone I love and enslave every survivor for the rest of our lives.
So I’m finding a way in. And not letting one Lycanthru out.
This ends tonight.

Tonight, all the masks and gloves are coming off.

They’ve forgotten how I saved them.
Now who will save me?

Or so I thought. Another band of Lycanthru threatens the neighboring province of DeSarte, an unsettling place that I’ve been warned to avoid. But the wolves there have taken a small girl, who might still be alive, if I can reach her in time. If I can convince everyone that the Lycanthru still pose a deadly threat.
But as my reports of the DeSarte wolves grow more and more suspect, even my closest friends have begun to wonder if the Lycanthru ever truly existed, or if my own grief had driven me insane. I’ve warned them that this was what the Lycanthru wanted us to think. But can I prove my innocence in time to save the girl, my friends, or even myself?

Uncover the truth.

Beaten. Banished. Broken.
And back for more!

Until a new band of Lycanthru deceived me and all of my friends, making them believe I had gone insane. My enemies carted me away to the dangerous province of DeSarte and locked me in their asylum, a secret lair where they imprison and torture everyone who opposes their reign of terror.
I’m trapped and helpless, with no weapons, no allies, and no way of escape, while the wolves prey on the innocent and everyone I love back home.
But I’ve come too far to give up now.
I’m breaking out of here, however I can, and I’m bracing myself for all-out war.

Join the revolution.
